A chilling experience – just how bad it is on Beacon Hill.
by Brian Camenker
I got a call this week from James Eisenberg, chief of staff of
Rep. Robert DeLeo, chairman of the powerful Ways & Means Committee
of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
DeLeo was orchestrating the override of Gov. Romney's veto of a
70% increase of state funding for homosexual programs in the public
schools. Parents across the state were livid -- and hundreds were
calling his office -- but DeLeo didn't seem phased.
I asked Eisenberg why DeLeo was willing to take so much heat for
something as bad as this - money for homosexual programs in the
schools. I just can't understand it, I said. This money goes for
such poisonous things. Is he familiar with the "Little Black Book",
I asked.
Yes, he knows about "The Little Black Book", he told me. Then he
said something that completely floored me.
He mentioned the part where it discusses urination, as an
example. He said he has no problem with it, or any other part of
that book, as long as it's "clinically correct."
Clinically correct? First of all, it's not clinically or
medically correct at all, I said. We've posted a letter by a
physician that describes in detail the massive mis-information this
book contains.
But wait a minute. Urination? I reminded Eisenberg what we're
talking about here: the book (given to kids) describes people
urinating on each other, and cautions its readers to be careful not
to accidentally drink any of it. There's nothing medically or
clinically correct about this. It's depraved. The book should say
that to people.
"We have a difference of opinion," was Eisenberg's reply.
He went on to say that these programs are about saving lives.
The proponents (the homosexual lobby) report that when the funding
for these programs goes down, gay teen suicides go up. That's why
they need to give them more money, so suicides will go back down.
I was stunned. These are complete lies, I said. I asked him if
he'd actually looked at the statistics, or examined what these
programs actually are. No, he hadn't personally done that. This is
completely bogus, I told him. This is simply an excuse to get into
the schools by the homosexuals. The State of Massachusetts, in its
suicide statistics and records, does not keep track of "reasons" why
anyone commits suicide. And has he looked at the "Youth Risk
Behavior Surveys" given out in the schools, which they use to for
their claims, I asked? These surveys are completely phony, and they
ask all kinds of leading questions to impressionable kids. Any
actual statistician would laugh at these surveys.
But worse than that, I said, these programs are not run by anyone
with any medical qualifications, or legitimate experience in suicide
prevention, such as the Samaritans. It's just homosexual activists
pushing programs to normalize homosexuality in the minds of kids.
In fact, these programs can be very destructive emotionally to kids
who are at a vulnerable time in their lives emotionally.
"Well, we have a difference of opinion," he said again.
Why don't you people look at any of this with a critical eye?
You don't question anything they tell you. Why do you just hand
them money? He didn't respond to that.
He said he lived in the same town I do, and he knew about me, and
my activities on these issues. So what does he think about that, I
asked him. You people act as if you're "under siege," he told me.
I asked him if he has kids in the schools. He said no, he
doesn't. I talked to him about the homosexual programs in the local
schools - the transgender assemblies, the pamphlets asking if kids
"if they hadn't had same-gender sex, how do they know they wouldn't
like it", and the counseling sessions I'd witnessed, telling kids
that if they feel "different" maybe they're really gay. Has he seen
our postings about this on our web site? Yes, he had. But beyond
that he didn't have any comment, except "We have a difference of
opinion."
He reiterated that this is his personal opinion, but that he
definitely supported these programs. He admitted that Rep. DeLeo
could stop the veto of the funding increase from being overridden if
he wanted to. But he did not dispute the observation from the other
aide that DeLeo "Is very, very, very supportive of these programs
and sees a great deal of importance in them. So you can rest assured
on that."
So there you have it. Whatever Rep. Robert DeLeo once was - pro-
life, pro-family - this is the person he's chosen to have as his
chief of staff. A man who has no trouble with the state funding a
book about people urinating on each other for sexual pleasure.
And Eisenberg's not at all alone. From what we've been told,
he's more the rule than the exception among Legislative staff on
Beacon Hill. This is absolutely beyond belief, but in 2005 this is
what is actually happening, the force behind our legal process.
This is why the we all have to do the hard work of taking back
control of our government. That's what Article 8 Alliance is
dedicated to. That's why we're here.
2nd part of override of gay school money sent to floor,
passes House and Senate.
Rep. Robert DeLeo, chairman of Ways & Means Committee,
ignores frantic pleas of parents. Gives extra $100,000 of tax money to
homosexual activists. Overrides veto by Gov. Romney. Caves in to gay
lobby.
Scroll to bottom for roll call votes on
both budget items.
This past Thursday, June 23, the Massachusetts Legislature passed its 2006
budget and presented it to Gov. Romney. Our legislators caved in to the gay
lobby and gave them 70% more money for their poisonous programs in the public
schools – from $250,000 to $425,000!
In addition, the budget language required the Massachusetts Department of
Education (DOE) to use $75,000 of that increase to implement a set of radical
pro-homosexual “suicide prevention” recommendations that gay activists pressured
the State Board of Education to adopt a few years ago.
After Article 8 Alliance made this public, hundreds (maybe thousands) of you
appealed to Gov. Romney to veto (at least) this increase. On June 30 the
Governor heard your voices and included these in his list of budget items which
he officially vetoed.
From there, the ball was in Rep. Robert DeLeo's court. As chairman of the
powerful Ways & Means Committee, it was up to him which of the vetoed items went
back to the floor for an override vote. Given the sheep-like behavior of the
overwhelmingly Democrat legislature confronting a Republican governor's vetoes,
everyone knew that, de facto, the real decision was in DeLeo's hands.
Hundreds and hundreds of your calls were made to DeLeo. Pleas from parents whose
kids have endured some of this horrific homosexual indoctrination in the
schools. But he wouldn't listen. In fact, his behavior was as arrogant as could
be. He refused even to return phone calls, even from constituents. But his
aide told us that he had time to talk to pro-gay reps about this, and assure
them they'd have no problem with this. Last Thursday, DeLeo pushed the first part to the
floor for a vote. And yesterday he pushed the second part. Both times, by
large margins, our
brain-dead legislature voted to override. Including, sadly, many "solid"
pro-family reps. We'll see about this. . .
DeLeo represents Revere and Winthrop, which includes a sizeable working-class,
traditionally socially conservative population. But after 8 terms in the
Legislature, with little opposition on election day, the "pro-life, pro-family"
DeLeo has slid to the other side. He voted against us on homosexual "marriage"
and confides with the pro-gay crowd on Beacon Hill.
Make no mistake about it. Article 8 pledges: DeLeo will have an opponent in next
year's Democratic primary! We'll keep you up to date on this..

Just what is going on??
Unfortunately, this is what happens when the public doesn’t do
its job. When people sit back, over the years, and assume that our
elected officials will actually represent our interests. It’s what
happens when we take the advice of wimpy “pro-family” groups that
advise us to always be polite and deferential to our public
officials, even when they turn on us and push the culture of death.
The special interests love it when we do that.
DeLeo, from all accounts, started out as a decent guy. Pro-life,
pro-family. Member of the Knights of Columbus. But now he’s been
in office 8 terms. And in a heavily Democratic district, he hasn’t
had an opponent in the Democratic primary for as long as anyone can
remember. And now he’s been elevated by the new Speaker into a
leadership position, with more money, more prestige. And no
pressure from the people. No need to rock the boat.
So DeLeo’s developed set of friends. Toby Morelli told us that
DeLeo had been in close contact on this issue with Rep. Liz Malia
(D-Boston), an openly lesbian member of the Ways & Means Committee.
And we’ve heard that he meets with Arlene Isaacson (the lead
homosexual lobbyist) and Sen. Jarrett Barrios (who’s “married” to
another man) on these issues. But as far as we know, he doesn’t ask
any of us what we think. Why should he?
And now DeLeo, and the others, are selling out your children to
the depraved homosexual lobby, using your money.
This is a problem throughout the Massachusetts Legislature. And
among public officials throughout the country. And WE need to change that. We
need to do the hard work to turn this around. Starting now.
How they voted:
Roll Call Vote. Get ready to, well, throw up. When we call the
Legislature "lemmings" we're not kidding.
The first item, 7050-0005, gave the Department of Education $75,000 and
ordered it to use it for bogus "suicide prevention" and "anti-violence" programs
run by homosexual activists (NOT legitimate medical people).
The second item, 4590-0250, gave an additional $100,000 of your money to the
"Governor's Commission for Gay and Lesbian Youth" to use as they want for
homosexual programs in the public schools.
Like most of the other override votes over the last few weeks, every
Democrat, including our "pro-family" friends (except Phil Travis on the second
vote), voted "YES".
They just blindly followed the party line -- in effect selling out your kids to
the homosexual lobby.
And among the Republicans, especially in the Senate, at least they
were "supposed" to buck the override tide. But look at how many
not only sold out to the gay lobby, but voted to override their own governor's veto!
We definitely have some work to do!
Note: Y=Voted for override; N=Voted against override; xx=not voting;
In Senate, Shannon is deceased; Travaglini is President and does not vote unless
a tie.
