Joint Education Committee
Massachusetts Legislature
Currently before the Education Committee are:
(1) H1050 -
New Parental
Notification Law
(2) S316 - Parental Opt-in
for School Surveys
(3) H1641 -
Requiring "Health" education for graduation
Communicating with the Education Committee:
1. Call them. Try to talk to the legislator personally. Let them
know, very clearly, what you want (a certain bill to pass) and why you want it.
Don't be intimidated by them. Don't be afraid to be firm with them. (In
addition, you should also follow up with a letter, fax, or possibly an email.)
Don't be afraid to call them at home. (The homosexual lobby has
no problem calling legislators at home at night.) If you do call them
during the day in the office, you might have to talk to an aide. For some
reason, a lot of legislative aides are not only very left-wing, but are
themselves gay activists. Some aides (and legislators) can be very snotty and
rude. Don't let it rattle you.
2. Submit testimony on the bill. This is best done through the
mail. You can mail to:
[Legislator's Name]
State House, [Room number]
Boston, Massachusetts 02133
Also, please send us a copy at: Article 8 Alliance, PO Box 1612, Waltham, MA

3. Let us know what happens. Best way is through
our contact page.
